M/s GENERAL MANUFACTURING & TRADING CORPORATION, the updated version from Parent firm M/s WESTERN INDIA WIRE INDUSTRIES is one of the pioneering units for manufacture of Steel Welded Wire Mesh or Fabrics. The Parent Firm was established in 1969 at Thane where the Sales and Admin Office still continues., and has been meeting the diverse requirements of customers with consistency and reliability of supplies with an unmatched reputation for quality and timely deliveries. The Plant operations are overseen by a team of technocrats headed by Mr Vijay Dodeja, B.E (Civil), M. Tech (Struc) & Mr Sunil Dodeja, BE(Metallurgy).
The Plant is housed in Sheds totalling 26500 sqft and is equipped with 4 Semi Automatic Mesh Welding Lines of 2.7m (9ft) to 3.3m (11ft) width for 3.0 to 11.0 mm dia and 4 Nos Mesh Welders of 1.52 m for smaller wire diameters of 1.25 to 3mm respectively.
The Mesh sizes manufactured are with a spacing range of 25mm to 400mm with Wire Diameters of 2.0 mm to 12.0 mm diameters. Materials used are Mild Steel Hard Bright Drawn Wires( Ungalvanised) or Hot Dipped Pre-Galvanised Wires or Stainless Steel Wires. Ungalvanised Wires are drawn in-house from Controlled Quality Mild Steel Wire Rods.
The Plants are equipped with necessary downstream facilities such as heavy duty Hydraulic & Mechanical Shears , Edge Wire Trimmers ,Mesh Coilers, Bending Presses along with Overhead Crane facilities for meeting large -scale Mission Critical Requirements of Projects. An In house Physical Testing Laboratory and IS:9001 practices on ground ensure reliability and traceability of Materials and Process
